Hi there welcome to my web site. We have a small
farm located  deep in the Appalachian mountains of  Draper Va. I've loved these mountains and traditions for as long as I can remember. My poor daddy always said I was born in the wrong time period and I guess he was right because I love the old ways of life and its just never took alot to make me happy. Mom and dad gave me my first stove thinking I would give up my wood cook stove and I bet you can guess how well that went. My first house was a farm house which I carried a hammer around for years to keep it together. I started out making old dolls ,but something just never seem quite right about the face or hair so I left it alone a while . Then making baskets took over my heart  which I copied from my collection of old baskets . My dolls still haunted me to get better at, but I still left it alone.I was still to busy taking down trees for my baskets. lol  How did I end up with sheep ? well one Christmas I got a scarf , and I knew how to knit so , I got to thinking hmmm I don't like store yarn and wonder how it would be to make my own yarn. I found me a spinning teacher who finally taught me so I would  shut up and it came very easy to me well kinda. Then I decided what if I had my own source of wool, it could not be any harder to take care of them than my horse only horses don't require shearing and wool storage. I only wanted five sheep and now I have 20 head and also carry wool from other farms. My dolls well, wool became hair, beards and clothing , one needle sculpting class and the doll puzzle was complete. All this has been some years back and now I teach spinning ,felting and sell my dolls everywhere. I have sold on ebay for years and now wanted a web site . I have met so many people thru my girls(sheep) that have became life long friends. My husband bless him he puts up with alot. The house in the picture belongs to my neighbor who still lived in it untill last year when she past.. Did I mention my life has always been touched my strong mountain women. She will be missed by this valley. I will be adding a blog so to introduce these mountains, people and my sheep to you. .
